Welcome

Wellcome

I am a native Spanish speaker born and raised in Lima, Peru. I have had an extensive and formal bilingual education in both, Spanish and English throughout my primary, secondary and post-secondary education. I hold a B.S. Degree from the U.S.

At a professional level, I work as an independent California court-certified Spanish Interpreter and professional Translator. I work with a variety of industry-wide organizations in the private sector, as well as with local and state government entities providing Spanish & English language services.

My educational background, coupled with the significant number of years I have resided in the U.S., have furthered my foreign language skills enabling me to communicate competently and accurately. I have a profound understanding of both languages and cultures, and I identify with them equally. I see myself not only as a language professional, but as a bridge of understanding between two languages and cultures I know so well.

Professional Background

Wellcome

My work as a judicial interpreter has equipped me with the knowledge, abilities, and ethical values needed to interpret fully, accurately, and competently. In addition, my cross-industry and multi-ethnic professional exposure have been key in acquiring the interpreting skills needed to efficiently communicate and interact with a broad Hispanic audience in a wide variety of settings.

My Philosophy and

Work Ethic

My goal as a Spanish-English language professional is to bridge both languages and cultural gap by discerning the nuances, tone, style, and meaning beneath the words for maximal understanding thus, optimal results.
I maintain absolute confidentiality, professionalism, and objectivity at all times. As an officer of the court, my ethical and legal duties are to remain impartial at all times and to provide complete, accurate, and truthful interpretation to all parties involved.

Use of Neutral Spanish

My Hispanic background allows me to effectively communicate with other Spanish speakers regardless of education or socio-economic backgrounds by utilizing a standardized Latin American Spanish (generalized vocabulary). Also, I am mostly familiar with common regionalisms, colloquialisms, and idiomatic expressions of Mexican, Central American, and South American origins as I am presented with them on a regular basis in the field.
